Sightline was first established as SightLine Laser Eye Center in 2000 by Dr. Lou Phillips, O.D. This was initially a referral center for local optometrists to send their patients to have refractive surgery. Due to requests by the local optometrists, in 2004 Dr. Lou hired a cataract surgeon (along with Dr. Charlene Maloney O.D.) and the business name was changed to SightLine Ophthalmic Associates to reflect the expanding surgical offerings. In 2008, Dr. Paul Phillips M.D. completed his corneal fellowship training in Portland, OR and returned home to work for his father. With Dr. Paul’s expertise in cornea and anterior segment surgery, SightLine again expanded its offering to include corneal transplant surgery as well as numerous other corneal procedures.
Dr. Lou Phillips retired in June of 2018. Drs. Paul Phillips, Charlene Maloney and Chris Carver are currently partners continuing the business model started by Dr. Lou. Other members of the current team include J. Adam Lawson, O.D., Ladan Espandar, M.D., Marisa Ciamacca, O.D., Kara Varga, O.D. and Derek Leale, M.D. Our medical team is supported by the best staff an office can find.
The goal of SightLine is to provide excellent surgical and medical outcomes within a pleasant and comfortable environment. We believe in providing medical care with excellent patient communication while the patient is in our care. We remain committed to the referral philosophy and thank the doctors that trust us to handle their patient’s visual problems.
SightLine currently has a main office in Wexford and 3 satellite offices in Chippewa, New Castle, and Kittanning. We don’t perform routine eyecare and work through referrals only. If you would like to be seen at SightLine, please ask your eye doctor to make a referral to us.
